The program showcases the many colors of the harp through a variety of musical styles including Romantic music written expressly and idiomatically for the harp (Glinka, Zabel), Baroque music in transcription (Scarlatti), the Impressionism of Debussy that sounds as though it were written originally for harp (First Arabesque), an arrangement of Londonderry Air in a quintessentially harpistic style, and the genius of Salzedo's special harp techniques in his evocative "Song in the Night."
